    Yes adding 1" to my current 13 made all the difference

    G'day,

    The purpose of power on boats is to get you out of trouble.

    There are no brakes, let alone ABS, ESC or any other clever devices to keep you out of strife.

    You may never use the power in smooth waters but the hole shot of your engine might keep you out of strife in a sea rising to 2.5M with 6M between the waves. That's what it was like between Bribie and Scarborough on Monday this week.

    Buy lots of power and hope you never have to use it - but you will.
