Just got back in from a pleasant sunset session with one of my 12 yr olds.
We had the double yak on the car after setting some pots out this morning so we thought we might just kill an hour or two tempting the bass .
After a slow start we ended up with 6 bass with the size increasing as the sun set.
we had three fish over 40 cm with my last one just beating my old pb at a shade under 44 cm. the young fella had only troubled the scorer once and had dropped a goodie.
He hooked up to a solid fish but appeared to drop it ,even putting his rod between his knees while giving himself a verbal. It was soon obvious he was still connected and when he landed it I spent a good while checking the length.
It turned out to be a very thick and heavy bass of 45cm and I dont know if Harry or Me seemed the happiest.
His fish taken on atomic deep in ghost wagasaki on 6 lb stren braid with 10lb yamatoyo fluoro leader.
everyone swam away happy.
Brendan (proud father - probably slightly jealous one too)
