I haven't been able to get out much lately (except a couple of charters - thanks Sleepygreg/Firebird) but finally the planets aligned and I was able to take out the tinny. Headed out with a mate at a sensible 7am from Dohles Rocks. Dropped a couple of pots at the mouth but the conditions were pretty ordinary so decided to head for Hayes Inlet rather than the bay.
We fished in close to the mangroves near the new platform and had a nice bite going of an hour or so just on the change of tide. Got one good flatty a few just under bream and lost two other good fish on snags. The bite died so we tried in the channel but all we got were a couple of very small whiting. Conditions were better than forecast so picked up the pots (two keepers from the mouth) and headed over to Scott's Point. Fished around Garnet Rock for a few undersized reefies and got another sandy and the 'ting in closer near the green zone.
Not a great result but managed a feed and very happy to be back on the water.
Good luck to anyone heading out over the weekend,
Dave

That's a seafood patter alright! Great result, mate. Also good to see they're chewin' near the platform. Been hit and miss there over the years. Great stuff, those blue swimmers will be superb on the plate.
