PB 80cm Snapper

Took my daughter and my brother to Mud IS this morning.

We arrived at Mud put a few crab pots in and had a quick flick with the placcies caught a couple of undersize snapper then decided to go to the spot where my daughter caught a 77cm snapper last week

Things were a little quiet to begin with but persistence payed off yielding my brother an 80cm Snapper a new PB for him.

We also caught a heap of undersize snapper and as well as a couple more keepers had a couple of really good runs also but did not connect.

Had a visit from Fisheries boys, nice friendly blokes they checked the safety gear and had a chat.

All up we took home 80, 40 and 38 cm snappers and 3 blue swimmer crabs.

Nice fish mate....i love hearing those who say that snapper are a winter fish.My best from Mud was also around 80cm and was caught on christmas eve.

Unfortunately don't have any scales, have been added to the wish list tho. Was a real solid fish would of liked to see what it weighed.

Yeah the fish made a good account of itself, the initial run was pretty impressive.
I think he used 30lb braid with a flurocarbon leader.
