Yes I listened to his speech. Giving the Aborigines Economic control over their own land makes sense to me. I love the way Anna says, "Oh it's yours, but you can't use it."
What an old bag.
Cheers,
Tim
Think? I heard Abbott is putting through a private members bill on this.
For those interested it might make for some interesting news one way or another.

Carbon Really Ain't Pollution.
It's a bit funny up there. You talk to some of the local property owners and they are dead against the wild rivers. You talk to some indigenous locals and they are all for the wild rivers legislation. Some other indigenous locals don't want the wild rivers legislation to go ahead because of the work they can get if the mine goes ahead. They are really divided. One bloke reckons that if they are allowed to mine right up to where they want to the bauxite that acts as a natural filter and keeps the surface run off to a minimum will be gone and the rivers will be stuffed through all the soil run off.
I see quite a few of the Cape York aboriginal elders in a full page ad giving their nod to wild rivers.A few of them work as Rangers for the Government
Abbott has backing of the local graziers ,Cape alumina mining and Noel Pearson, who isn't really that well liked by a lot of the local Indigenous population up there.
Think it may be more about securing all the bauxite for mining companies than giving aborigines economic control
Be interesting to see how it goes in the Parliament
