yabbies in the logan

we need help finding yabbies!

we have tried on and off in the Jacobs well area for the past twelve months. we seem to get alot of smaller yabbies but nothing that is any good for bait!

the target areas have been around the cabbage tree side of the Cobby Cobby passage, the mouth of the logan and a number of baks on the way to the pin.

Am i looking in the wrong places or is is it likely my method is to blame?

Hello Navara79, Try the sand banks at Aggerston Sands in the Logan( approx 2km downstream from the Gazzebo , northern side of the river, At the pin - Eastern entrance to Cobby Passage on the banks on the northern side. or at Gold Bank.

not being self sufficient is getting to be very expensive...

Try here - I always found it convenient on my way to slipping sands or fish the western end of Cobby cobby passage/ Canaipa/ Mosquito islands area. According to Google earth GPS mark is 27°42'22.79"S 153°21'54.12"E

careful with the banks at the eastern entrance to cobby as all of cobby cobby island is a green zone that includes collecting bait on th banks

The banks around the Bedroom/Pandanus Islands are Ok as well.
