rivers near casino

hey guys, planning a trip out the back of casino NSW to hit the upper reaches of the Clarence and the Richmond from the bank. any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated, also can i expect any other species apart from bass?

I spent 2 years in casino up until June this year, there are some pearch, heaps of mullet and carp. Also dont go in the water as there are alot of bullrout in the richmond river. If i was you i would head to Evans Head, its only 45mins and really good whiting and flatty at this time of year in the big hole next to the bridge.
If your really after fresh water fish the weir at casino is your best bet, also there's a street on the right heading out of casino towards Lismore on the bruxner highway about 1km past the the car wash, follow that till you get the to the river theres and old dock from when the barge used to run. Toonunbar Dam out the back of Kyogle also produces nice yellow belly and bass.

When are you thinking of coming? The Richmond river in Casino is still a little murky from recent rain but is clearing slowly. I was in Tabulum on Saturday and the Clarence river there is still very muddy. Both rivers hold good populations of bass with eel tail catties. There are carp around Casino take all you want.

thanks guys, i was thinking of hitting the clarence for bass and i was hoping for the chance at a cod. not interested in evans head since i can get all the flathead , bream etc i want near home on the gold coast

mate i'm looking at coming down this weekend. and as for the carp, don't get me started i grew up in Narrabri, i know carp lol.

umm not officially stonecold, we are just gunna wing it. we don't even have a 4x4 we are just going to follow the river by road till we find a likely looking spot then walk the bank.

Plenty of bass on the coast too

yeah young gun, i've caught them from below hinze, to below little nerang to below clarrie hall to crystal creek to pigabeen creek. no cod though hence the trip
