    Anyone seen my RMG Lure

Took the new boat for it's first trip this morning. What a cracker of a day.
Had to drop the kids off at school, chase up a new battery and get some pillies.

Headed out towards the blinker and had a good run out, conditions where as good as they get. It was my wifes first time outside in a boat, she would never come out in the old tiny but in the haines no probs.

She got the first fish of course. But she also brought bananas on the boat, which is a no no. We had to keep moving because of those pesky little munton birds. They are as thick as. We tried to scare them but we had to move a few times to get rid of them. We gave up in the end and had a troll.

Only trolled about 100meters and the wifes rod was screaming off line, she had trouble hanging onto it so I did the right thing and took over, It was a hugh Mackeral, I think it was a spano as I could see the bars on him, because it was just a quick trip I didn't worry about puting on leader and me rmg lure is out there somewhere swimming around in a mackerals mouth, so if you catch one off the sunshine coast could you return my favourite lure please

Can't wait to get back out there.

    Cheers,
    Steve

I don't really know the name of those birds, I was outside of the seaway monday and by the time I anchored there were about 10 sitting at the rear of the boat,
I called them " F#%k!*g C^#ts,, I was fuming cause I anchored on a really good looking spot.

drop a bait and there diving after it and getting the pillie and hooks stuck down there throat or somewhere on them ! they wouldn't scare away so set up my baits, pulled anchor and motored away and dropped bait b4 they caught up to me again, got the lines to anchor a few times too,

when I moved off the first time to drift I got my 530 mm snapper prob a pb but was so angry still and didn't get to enjoy the moment, it didn't have the biggest knob , " the biggest knobs are my deckies" then got a 520mm snap and a couple of smaller ones at 400 . so very happy at the end result

also found a safe way to get my hooks off the reef without cutting crist outa my hands with braid, grab a rag and wrap the line around a few times then grab it like starting a lawnmower,

didn't see your lure but saw a wire trace sticking out of one of those birds gob,

wish I could get my wife out there but she gets scared and lays on the floor in fetal position. Cheers

    Hi,

A little trick to get rid of the mutton birds is to fill an empty 600ml drink bottle with tuna oil punch 4 or 5 holes in it and tie it off on the transom - forms a continuous slick - goodbye mutton birds. Evidently they dont like the oil on their wings - works a treat when fishing floaters in burley trail or cubing for fin.

    Cheers
