At 5.00 pm Left Brisbane Saturday and arrived at the ramp at 12.00 had a few (5) hours sleep, up to the servo and fueled up and in the water by 6.30. First stop was the bait grounds but no shows so out to reef we go ,headed straight to my trout spot witch always produces after a few hours 3 nice trout and 1 lost to the sharks plus it was hard to get a bait past the mutton birds . Call was made to look for some reds as the evening was approaching ,tried all my red spots but plenty of under sized with only one legal landed so he was our dinner for the night . Headed into Fitzroy lagoon by 9.00pm had a few beers (2) and fresh red emperor for dinner now that’s liven Barry and a good nights sleep (need my beauty sleep).
Plan today Monday was to look for some new ground , left the lagoon at 5.00 am and headed north and wide and after a hour found some great shows and no mutton birds , had a 2 hour hot bite that produced pearlies ,snapper ,parrot , red throat and plenty of under size red emperor . After the hot bite we headed further north sounding, found some more great shows but no fish. Fished our way back to Fitzroy and anchored up by 8.00 pm, tonight’s menu was fresh parrot washed down with a light beer .
Tuesday our last day so we head out the front of Fitzroy to a few spots that produced a mixed bag , 2.30 pm and its time to call it quiets and head for home .
Arrived back at the ramp at 4.00 and on the road at 5.00 to arrive back in Brisbane by 12.00 stopping for a feed and tub. Over all the fishing was slow , weather was great with se 10 to 15 knots and annoying mutton birds and some more ground to explore on a different moon phase .

Fishing can be defined as "A jerk on one end of the rod, waiting for a jerk on the other".
"Fishing was around along time before you darling"
Ah the memories - we were there in April - how good is it!!!
Thanks for the report and taking us with you in your words.
