Hey mate i fish there fairly regularly.......if it's barra your after and it should be for that time of year i'd be looking at some building to spring on the back of the neaps.....somewhere from 2.5mtrs up to 6ish and the finnis will fire up.
That time of year it's pretty hit and hit......good fishing to be had during the run off in the little finnis and the finnis proper.Also you'd wanna check out Point Blaze for goldies (fingermark) and the odd jewie and trout.
If you have a 4wheel drive and a boat under say roughly 6mtrs you will be able to drive and launch at finnis mouth on a tide under 6mtrs instead of copping a beating across Fog bay and have the flexibilty to camp near the mouth around
the back of the trees it's a good spot if ya don't mind a mozzie or 4......
That time of the year should have the run off pumping the Daly River. If that is the case either target Barra in the Daly River area, Finiss RIver or keep away from the Perons. There is simply too much fresh water coming out of the mouth of the Daly to chase reef fish. GO out wide of Blaze and hit Sail City or Long Lost which is well Morth of the Daly River mouth.
