Cheap EPIRBS
A quick heads up for anyone who's interested, I notice Whitworths have an 'ACR' brand, 406MHz manually operated EPIRB as a clearance special at the moment. $399 seems like a pretty good price to me. I wouldn't have a clue as to the quality of the unit, but the price is right.

g'day noel and tim, that's a good price for an epirb. i wondered why the acr ones rrp was $799 and now they're $399, probably the even cheaper competition.

Yes, I picked up one of the Pains Wessex (RB6) from Whitworths in August during their sale. $299 less the 15%. So at $254.15 and free battery replacement at 5 years that's not bad. I'm pretty sure the free battery replacement offer is still on.
