    Only one problem with that.
    It's highly illegal!!!
Carp, dead or alive, cannot be moved...

If you get stung use the slime from the fish or goo from the eye to remedy it. Usually in nature there is a cure for the ailment close to the source of the bitey.

    Finga,

We caught 3 decent sized catfish and kept them. Stinky, hard to kill, slimy buggers they were, but they put up good fights, and were fun from the kayaks.

Filleting was interesting as we hadn't done it before but got some decent fillets out of them. Crumbed them in oil and butter with a herb crumb, and they tasted OK.

Can't say I will be catching any more for their eating potential, at least not from this location, but if I snare an ocean dwelling one I will give it another go on the plate.

At least the fishing reminded me what a drag sounds like when being pulled, as our luck has been terrible lately.

    Yeah mate, skinned them down.
I reckon that slimy crap would have made them unbearable if left on.

Didn't start skinning my fillets till the later half of this year, but hooked on it now. Love the clean, easy eating meat it leaves, and I feel like a pro when one comes off in a clean swipe.

    Goodo then Murdoch.
Next time try this little trick if you don't do it already.
When your filleting don't run the knife all the way along the backbone towards the tail. Stop about 1/4 or 3/8th's of an inch or so from cutting the fillet right off.
Flip the flap of flesh over and then run the knife down the skin.
The fish frame makes a great holding handle whilst doing the skinning instead of trying to hold the fillet with the pointy bits of your fingers whilst skinning
Well at least for me it works.

Finga top tip on the filleting. When I used too work in the seafood trade and do alot of shop and comercial filleting I've never come across that method before. I'm keen to give this a go when the ocassion arises. Nice one.
