    this little bloke jumped on a bait jig out in the middle of the bay, had the thready type whiskers but the rest of him seemed out of whack.Thanks Andrew

    in grants guide to fishes it looks to be a blind threadfin/putty nose pearch fished in rivers flowing into moreton bay growing to 280mm.

    As JP said, Putty Nose Pearch. Common in the cast net when chasing Pine River prawns.

    apparently they are top table fish not that ive ever tasted one.
    there are size and bag limits on threadfin but nothing mentioned on the blind threadfin.

    yes a blind threadie. caught only one in the pine river too. it was quite large, bout 30cm. tasted great.
