My brother-inlaw has said to me for many, many years now, he would like to fish offshore with me one day.
That day finally coincided due to a good forecast for the weekend and no commitments for either parties. Micheal is an avid fisherman and has recently upgraded to a 5.1m Abalone c/c and fishes and crabs the southern bay but hasn,t ventured offshore and wanted me to give him some pointers.
I really wanted to get his arms streched first up so cobia hunting we went.
Wasn't looking good and about to head when a solid hook up and a typical fight resulted in a 18kg specimen on board
Out to wide caloundra next for a reef fish with a heap of other boats on a windless morning and finding fish was tough but typical with this area we found a spot in the middle of nowhere and had a hot bite for a couple of hours for a quality pearly bag out and a few nice parrot thrown in
Couldn,t find that big snapper but maybe next time...
Really enjoyed the chance to spend time with family and sure to have the nephews on my case to take them soon
Carrol, Micheal's wife sent me an Email with him holding his prize catch, good job Micheal you wont forget this catch for a few years and i guess i will be reminded of it every time i see you.
