    lenthals

Was in two minds whether or not too post as am pretty excited about saturday arvo session. Thought only fair too share. landed 2 baby barra 48cm and missed another 30 odd strikes at least, no exaggeration....... its been 2 yrs since i have fished there, since my hornet was stolen, it is still like you are fishing in the top end billabong. Using lge hollow bellies with weighted worm hook. Really got our striking polished , how ever was so frustrating the misses .Think barra werent really inhaling lge lure. Had been fishing salt that morning and didnt have smaller plastic just 1 packet of hollows and a few old slick rigs. Could see barra pushing up on lure then bow wave then smack ... strike .. miss.. aargh. awesome 2 hr session before sunset. have photo wife will sort out for me later. It was like you see on those fishing dvds. Tried heaps of other lures but they all would foul on lilys and weed. Ranger said first he has heard of barra being encountered for a long time. Head back in 3 weeks, hopefully increase strike rate and size...Cant stop smiling like a little kid.
    Cheers Ethan....

Great to hear Ethan - it has been quite out there for a while. Did you see any larger fish as well - There should still be quite a few in there around the 80cm mark ?

Thanks for the report. good to hear. I've been wanting to pay Lenthalls a visit for ages but a bit worried about the motor situation so hopefully one of you guys might be able to answer my question.

I have a 2 stroke yammy 30 on my boat. I know I can't use it there, but can I leave it on my boat and just use my electric? Or will they still up me/fine me even if it's not being used?

My understanding is the security guy won't even let you in with a 2 stroke on the boat.

saw a few bigger boils near lures and spooked a few bigger fish when sneaking on electric. like to drift then anchor where poss. Sources tell me 2 fish around 90 cm were caught last week, makes sense as 2 yr ago we landed a few around 75cm.
    cheers Ethan
