30km/h throught that shallow but open water, he must have almost twisted that 7.5hp tiller clear off! LOL!

Good they got him of coarse, would like to have seen the fine to be near double the size, reads like his behaviour was fully premeditated.

Boat, trailer , car confiscated? Equipment confiscated?

    Fridges checked for in posession?

    Permanent ban on fishing lic?

Not allowed withing 100m of foreshore?

Hope they checked teh boot of his vehicle.

When they catch em they need to get tougher. The sharefarmers can easy make $3000 so cash fines are hardly a penalty for the scum.

I'm with you cormorant, the fines are just not deterrent for these guys. They might get caught once or twice but what about all the other times.

High speed chase at 30km/h? Surely this story must have originated from the rag that calls itself the Cairns Post.
"Shit fellas we might have to abort the chase, he's just hit planing speed!"

    LMFAO.

wankers like this need harsher punishment!
how many times would he have done this before he got caught. Crush his boat like in the other illegal crabber article on here. Do it to a few times and people will start to think about what they are doing and maybe start to consider other people aswell.
No one takes the time to put crab pots out, to have some ****wit come and take whats in there

    NAME HIM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why don't these reports name and shame the perps ?

Shoot, a footy player is only " accused " of peeing in public etc and he gets his name spread all over the front page , yet someone who blatantly breaks the law and is caught and penalised is NOT named.

    This has got to change.
