Barra park at Bli Bli would be the closest and most likely of sucess, especially landbased.
Can anyone tell me if there is anywhere around Noosa that i can look at catching a Barra. Happy to drive a few hours and prefer land base unless i can put the boat in (659 Stabi craft)
Just a thought as i will be up there for 2 weeks in Feb/March and will make a change from chasing Marlin and mackies.
Cheers

Not really Barra country.. still a bit too far south.. they do turn up from time to time but in short they are not local fish as such.. the Bli Bli park sucks a bit so if you are really keen on the barra keep heading north.. A few hours up the highway there is that dam just past Gin Gin.. can't think of the name of it but apparently holds nice fresh water barra...
Lake Monduran bit north of Gin Gin
Thanks guys.
I will do a bit of research. Might look to hire a tinny and head up there.
Lake Monduran
I did a bit of a search and have found that there is a concrete ramp and the depth is an average of about 15mtrs.
To anyone that has fished there could you launch a 6.5mtr boat and cruise around without the thought of hitting something.
Cheers
why dont you think about a guided charter. Local knowledge with his own boat so you will be put on the fish.
Have seen boats of that size in the dam when the level was low. Lots of water but will restrict you in some of the shallower areas. If that the boat you have why not. Just enjoy it, its a big dam and if you stick to main dam area and the river beds. Lots of bays also that you will have no problems with.
Enjoy

Fish for the future, enjoy the present but think of your children.
just post your question in the freshwater section. loads of monduran addicts there to help. do plenty of research before you head to donut kingdom, its worth it.
Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
