    Forest Lakes Question

Does anyone know if you're allowed to fish in Forest Lakes out darra way?? It looks like theres tilapia in there and was thinking about having a fish but not sure if you're allowed to or not there. i looked at the Delfin site and it says you can enjoy the lakes in the estates by swimming kayaking or having a fish but not sure if thats for all their estates

    cheers

its chockers with the tilapia and other sorts of tank fish, meant to be some massive red devils in there, and no not the mangrove jack type.
its where i use to go and get shrimp for feeders, i would use a small scoop net and every now and then people would walk past saying,"you can not fish in there" lol i would laugh and say i am shrimping not fishing lol another better lakes is springfield lake, says no fishing, but has some monster silver perch in it

    Re: Forest Lakes Question

No fishing permitted by Delfin, but by all means go for it & go kill some tilapia. Just make sure you take any carcasses away with you.

The worst that will happen is you will be asked by security to move on or put your gear away. If you don't comply, then things might go down hill.

We were asked to stock it with native predator fish, but we wont until Delfin change their tone to recreational fishing.

    Cheers,

    Re: Forest Lakes Question

    Hey fellas,

Been living in Forest Lake for 11 years and theres some impressive specimens in there Chock full of massive and i say... MASSIVE tilapias. Eels the size of a teenager.
Security rarely do walks about anymore, they did back in the days but haven't seen any in ages - i go jogging every night. Most they'll do is tell you to go away

Springfield lakes is probably my favourite as it holds some big silver perch. Shallow chubbies or minnows work best because the bottom is just too damn weedy to fish anything else. Small poppers work also.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Forest Lakes Question

i wonder if the fisheries can step in here and help open the lake to fishing for the main purpose of removing a noxious fish, i bet delfin would be the ones responsible for the tilapia release in the first place. should they be fined for the creation of a big problem, its not only forest lake but just about any of their estates with lakes have tilapia!

NO FISHING SIGNS PAINTED AROUND edge on concrete, same old story a few idiots leave bait and hooks around and spoil, it for the rest. There are also gar and silver along with the tilapia and droves of spangles. used to fish it before the clowns spoiled it , if you saw the mess left behind by some you would understand why, dont be tempted it is inforced. cheers alex
