    Bribie 23 Oct

Took my son and two mates fishing off Bribie today. What a cracker of a day with some sun, which was nice for a change, and light winds. The pearlies were on and we reached our bag very quickly with only a few squire thrown in. Couldn't catch anything but more pearlies so we came home early. We used pillies and mullet but the soft plastics, large atomic shads, were hammered as soon as they got down and they caught the best fish.

They are some serious pearlies. I'm really being converted to big softplastics offshore for snapper and pearlies. You can fish them in paternoster rigs when the pearlies are on and they'll come up two at a time. One of the best eting fish around.

Was that out around Cal Wide?
