    Squire @ the Pin?

Just wondering. Have been catching a heap of undersize squire around the pin just inder the 30cm mark and was wondering if there is a possibility of catching legal ones? Pesky buggers at times but at least it makes for a bit of fun. You can sure tell the difference when you catch one of those compared to a bream of the same size they fight like crazy.

    Cheers Adsee

I would probably say unlikely, the smaller the fish, the bigger the school. I would be trying a bigger bait to try and pick the bigger ones from the school. A small snap will take a larger bait than most would think.

I think you will find as they get bigger they get a bit more selective about the type of country they inhabit.
the bigger fish are most commonly found around reef or gravel patches

This is totally possible I had a mate catch a 38cm and a 42cm squire 3 weeks ago down the Pin way.

    Well said Rando,

This is exactly what i found. In addition, even when you are in good reef and keep catching small snapper, chances are there are not many bigger specimens with the schools of smaller fish.
