    Cape Moreton snap

Headed across the bay from Scarbie Monday morning and first and only fish for the day in the esky by 6 am. Didn't see any debris in the bay and water temp at the Cape was 23 degrees. Lots of whales still. Had a bite off from a wahoo and saw a couple of sails also.

Snapper went 83 cm 6.64 kg and taken on a soft plastic as per the photo. Just the one for me and mate got a slightly smaller model. Boat is V146C haines which is a 4.4 m half cab.

We trolled a spread of 4 lures including minnows, bibless and pushers wide of Hutchies. The wahoo took a Halco 160DD and we didn't have any other hits on the lures. No mack tuna. We nearly ran over one sail on the troll and saw another 3 free jumpers.

Hopefully the sails will still be around next week and I will take some live baits.

Been a long time now since I fished out of Caloundra. Found a new favourite spot now .

Hopefully get out of Mba a few times over summer to chase the beakies and mackeral. Hopefully starting next week.

23 degrees +/- a bit all the way from Cape to beyond hutchies. Sails were around the hutchies area.
