    Great Fish, Rubbish Pic

On a recent trip to the far Nth we had a ball with countless fish caught(and released). We were casting at some bankside snags when the deeper water in the middle of the river started splishing and spl;ashing as something was working some baitfish. Thinking long tom(and we got a couple) I started casting a popper towards the disturbed surface. Well I will never forget the explosion and violence of the hit as a thumping sooty hyit the popper in THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY in 5m of open water. Not textbook, but no complaints, definitely the highlight of the day. The fish was released boatside, in the water, with a flick of the pliers and I didn,t realize how crappy the only pic I took was but it was a good 45cm.

it would have loked something like this(same place, differant day
