Best brand of bearing (Ford) for the boat trailer & where can I buy them pls.

Gday, checked the bearings today and 1 was slighty pitted so time for new ones before I have probs. Rather than just grabbing some from S/Cheap I thought I'd ask if anyone would recommend a quality brand, and a Brizzy nth side outlet. Gotta grab them by 1pm today though cause I'm heading out fishin.

Mate if you know what you are after just go to Repco and grab them. Got my last set from Repco plus new gal rotors (brake trailer) good price, good service.

Otherwise I am pretty sure BCF stock all the parts you need and are the same brand as super cheap. From my experience BCF is cheaper even though they are both owned by the same parent company

Yeh thanks BCF just up the road, in their catalog for $14 a set, would be Chineese made but I might grab them as I gotta about 2 hours to get them and wack them in.

BCF/Suercheap will be cheap rubbish bearings, almost any bearing place, or proper auto place will have real bearings, the difference in price between sh!t and quality is not a whole lot, maybe $8-10?

There will be a big step between the chineese bearings and any of the japanese bearings....timken, NSK Koyo and so forth.

There are plenty of specilist bearing places like Bearing Services, or direct to the bearing companies and the like... but most of the trailer suppliers carry cheap and japanese options and so do some of the auto parts shops.

Any good boating shop should also have both options.....um northside marine

The number 1 thing though is to use a good marine appropriate grease....... mostly these are blue
Castrol " boating grease" otherwise known as APXT or now LMX. or one of the other equavalents.

Noel have you been to SCA lately??? they stock Timken in a kit for all types of trailers. you can gbet the ford type with marine seals for $25 a set.. last set I bought from a bearing supplier were koyo.. they cost me $160 to do 4 wheels

They didnt last any longer than a timken set

I can see that depending on who you are, which bearing company and how you approach them.....you may get a very much better price on bearings from a down stream source.

Trailer industry suppliers will be buying huge numbers of a very limited number of bearings..perhaps they are direct importing.

Ya should be able to get a set of ford bearings bearings only for arround $12 a wheel chineese and $20 a wheel japanese.
Marine seals for around $4 a wheel

If you go to someone like all trailer spares or active fabrications.
