    Hey Guys,

Heading to Monduran for the first time mid November. Never fished for Barra so just wondering if anyone has any tips in relation to lures and soft plastics.

    Cheers.

There are hundreds of posts and threads on this in Freshwater etc. do a search.
I am sitting in the rain in my tent here at Monduran, yes they actually have wireless in the campground!
The fishing here is very hard indeed with very few fish being caught, and that has been for quite a while. Its a very challenging dam at the moment, many fishos here in the camp have been here for over a WEEK AND HAVE FISHED HARD AND CAUGHT NOTHING. Fishing hours per fish equation is a bit scary.
Apparently hundreds fished a comp here last weekend with only 5 fish landed.
These guys are not greenhorns either, many have done really well in the past..seems its been pretty difficult since the water levels rose up from 26 to 82%.
Now others may have different opinions, but I would suggest you have a good think and research before making the trip.
    Im off to Awoonga tomorrow....
    Cheers

make sure you pack a couple of xr12 x-raps. we caught 4 barra on these in september in "tough times". just make sure you upgrade the trebles and rings and add a bit of weight so they suspend nicely. as the others have said there are heaps of posts on this site that will give you a pretty good headstart. we are heading up again this week so will put a report up when we get back.

    cheers, aaran.
