samson, pros didnt get locked out of anything, they are raping it as netting bycatch and throwing them back dead. yeh i could tell fisheries a good idea or 2 such as stop using the method thats causing the bycatch lol

i duno why you bother trying to drag responsible rec angling into this argument when youve even said hardly any recs can catch them

I knew that one would curl your hair pinhead i might of been out of line there so i've removed it but when people make uneducated comments like get out of the fishery and quit when its imposible to do so because of deep investment and we keep getting screwed every which way we turn you get those types of responses, people need to go pro fish for a while to see whats involved and educate themselves before trying to trample on peoples lively hoods.

Brisbane boy i'm not dragging anybody into anything if anything i'm getting dragged into it by amatures that aren't willing to see reason and as i've said before i'm no netter in fact i owned a net licence i never used and handed it back because i don't agree with this form of fishing, in fact last year i probably caught maybe six longtails at best, i'd just like the right to take more when the opportunity arises to supplement my income unfortuately to do this would mean netters would get the same right which i could live with if their throwing them back dead anyway.

samson..I run a business also..and this business has had that many controls put over it and licenses attached to it..but did I whinge bitch and whine? No..I complied and went about my business.
Nothing curls my hair..ain't got any left ..and i can assure you I have crossed swords with many better then you and survived to talk about it.
EVERY business in this country has seen change over the years ..but they either survive or get out and they all have investment in them.
It all comes down to your choice..adapt or leave but don't use rec anglers as the reason you stay or leave and don't use the fishing eating public either..when someone leaves an industry that gap is usually filled....and life goes on.

    woohoo..deadliest catch here we come.

samson..you have given enough insight as to where you stand on this.
I can stick my nose into your business because your business is harvesting a resource that is owend by every Australian. Therefore I have the right to question any facets I do not like or disagree with by means of my local Member of Parliament. If you do not like the current legislation controlling your business then you have the right to lobby your local member also.

As have you pinhead although everything you have said has nothing to do with this thread at all i can tell longtail mean nothing to you as you probably haven't even caught one but from your history you just love a stoush, what i've been doing is to try and educate people about longtail whether the law changes or not means very little in way of extra income for me but every little bit adds up to make work more justifiable.

The offer still stands going to fraser today i'm one man down who knows you may even catch a longtail and see what one looks like then you might know what your talking about.

    Cheers samson

I think this thread has run it's course and is about to go full circle as well as getting off topic.
