Couldn't you find any big fish Rob????

Seriously though, great pics from what looked like a great trip. Look at the size of the tail on those milkfish....no wonder they go so hard!!

Was thinking the same Greg - they have just got to motor with a propulsion unit like that. Top fish Rob. Looks like you had a ball.

    Re: Northern Territory Trip

Looks like a great trip there and most of it land based around Darwin by the looks. What technique did you use for the milkies if you don't mind me asking?

    Cheers

Ya just cant keep a good man down - pretty cool stuff there Rob ....... good work on the milk fish - I hear the go like the clappers .

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
    Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

most people burly up with bread then drift out a unwaited small hook covered in bread they buggers are cagey they tend to know what piece of bread has a hook

    Re: Northern Territory Trip

    Hi guys
    Thanks for the nice comments!
The Milkfish are unreal, and on the light gear nothing I have caught matches them for stamina! Its like fishing for mullet and hooking a tuna that just never gives in! The biggest one I caught was between 10kg and 12kg on 10lb line and took for ages to land! I had him within 4 meters of the shore for 15 mins in the end and felt like i would never land him.
Basically you burley with bread and then try fool them with a breaded hook, like cubing for yellow fin they always seem to know which bread has a hook in it.... We lost as many as we caught to spool jobs, snags and pulled hooks.
We have some footage to put together for YouTube but just need to find some time to put it together...
