    Kawana jack

Went for a fish around Kawana Island in the rain. It payed off, a 4 kg jack, 59 cm to fork of tail.
Got him on a Mann deep diver.
This one is going on the BBQ

Pardon my ignorance, I've never caught a Jack, but what's the significance of catching it in a landlocked stretch?
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    but why is that?
That's not a nice waterway, heaps of slimey weed, a few really big mullet jumping.
    The water isn't really tidal.

couldnt be too bad a tidal flow for all the bait that gets in there.
i have seen all sorts come out of there and lots have been eaten too with nothing but thumbs up

caught and eaten fish from the area and no different to open river. but i struggle to eat any fish from maroochydore river with the poo farm over flow running straight into the river.

nice jack mate good spot to get them and a rainy day makes them hunt

    well done

Nice try I've tried parrerra lake a a couple of times.. Had a good run once, sighted a big trev another time, but to date... Well, I've caught absolutely nothing from in there.

My comment was more to the point that I've been told stories of how poor the water quality is and was merely trying to look out for others.

    Matt.

PS: I am flattered that you take the time to troll on my posts.

EDIT: My honeyhole is along bradman avenue in the maroochy. Not too far from Yinni street... I really don't mind who fishes it.

I won't disagree.. The only fish I'll eat from the Maroochy are those that migrate in and out. ie: jew and tailor.
