Add me to the beach netting (Commercial and illegal Rec) as well.
Also add me to the growing list of stopping netting in estuaries/rivers.
Anyone got any thoughts on keeping charter operator numbers at current levels and reducing any new entrants? Good/Bad?
Cheers,
Chris
as above with vmr and coastgaurd combine the 2 maybe put a surcharge of say $10 on boat rego to go to these people, towards funding,
Make sure all ramps are tide accesable at low tide nothing like going out on the high tide and coming back in on a low tide to 20m of mud before you get to the ramp Clontarf for example it even has a pontoon so you can tie up in the mud,
I would like to see all companies like b c and f and tackle stores that sell goods over say $50 dollars donate a dollar towards a fighting fund to help control the size of green zones even if it was added to the price of the goods

QLD government to stop pussy footing around with Pros caught doing the wrong thing.
I know of a few cases where pros continue to act illegally and on a large scale. They get caught , get a piss weak fine- maybe a few $1000 but much less than the profit made from doing the wrong thing. Some of these guys have been caught a number of times and still have a license.
So my wish- Take licenses from pros caught fishing illegally and never issue another one to them. AND if a license has been revoked in another state (NT are good at this and dont stuff around), they cannot be issued one in QLD.
All states should do this.
PLus add my vote for banning estury and beach netting.
I'm with you Camhawk88, you get caught you lose your pro fishing licence
Also add me to the growing list to stop netting in estuaries/rivers.
Maturity is not when we start speaking BIG things,it is when we start understanding small things
Definitely a ban on netting in estuarys and rivers, with a buyback of licences.
More fisheries inspectors with much more regular ramp checks.
Streamlining of fisheries powers to enable greater time spent in the field and not with paperwork and especially court appearences.
No budget restrictions on fisheries inspectors overtime.
A snapper that cracks the 1 metre mark! please, plesae , please...I promise I will let it go.....well, if its in good condition anyway.
Thanks in advance.
I would like to see a sunset clause added to most inshore netting and trawling licences then give a fair and reasonable payout for the resumption of the licence when it is no longer being used
A community based group to liase with Fisheries and DERM before they start to go down specific paths. Once they are commited there is no stopping them
The amalgamation of rescue groups supported by an increase in boat rego
The development of 20 new artificial reefs in Moreton Bay area. Let community groups source "materials" that are suitable and use state funds to deposit them where its deemed suitable. Use the freshwater stocking model to support these groups
Increase fishery enforcement levels with serious penalties for blatant breaches

Add me to the list to stop netting estuaries.
What about the DPI hatchery being used to supplement recruitment of popular species. Instead of continually reducing bag limits , add to the available population.
I am not suggesting a long grow out to supplement natural recruitment. I envisage a process where millions of hatchlings 10-20mm are released and have to take their chances . Starting with mullet,,,,(food chain, everything eats em) whiting, bream, and tailor. If a farmer wants a better harvest, he plants more seed.
We should think of it the same way. You cant keep taking and not put back.
I suggest fishing from Monday to friday be outlawed..especially offshore during those days. This is specifically directed at a certain member..LOL
well, we'll put that down to good management rather than good luck.
BTW, I was on the water in a similar area to at least 5 other Ausfish members, all of whom I am sure will not post a report. I will say their eskies required a two man lift.
