Its outbound from the City heading North, immediately before a Ray White office and a few hundred meters south of the big Super Cheap Auto complex. There's a narrow driveway between Ray White and Jones's with a car park at the rear. It's fairly close to the Chermside Shopping Complex...so let the boss go shopping and but don't give her the C'Card, you'll need it yourself!!

Gawd I hate chermside shopping centre, at least now when the missus makes me go I have something to do other than sit at the pub.

Serioulsy, what more could one ask for, a pub and a tackle shop in walking distance of a major shopping centre, man am I going to score some faux brownie points going to chermside more often now!!

Should not make too much difference to me, except I feel I need a cut lunch prepared any time I go to Jones' tackle, coming from Logan It's a long way through traffic... But still, it's worth the drive because they will always go the extra mile to look after me as a customer.

I might go back to them again.. that last place they were at was a pain in the butt at times to get in and out of with the traffic along Lutwyche Road..I avoided them like the plague just because of that.

I would have to agree there mate, I stopped going there ten yrs ago for the same reasons. I dare say this move will make a much stronger trading business for them.

I stopped shopping there around 15yrs ago after being insulted and laughed out of the shop (in front of other customers they were no doubt trying to impress) for wanting to get a cheap rod fixed (needed 3 new runners). The fact that I already was spending a significant percentage of my 'spending money' (at the time I was a poor student) every month there made it even more difficult to swallow.

I'm now more than comfortable $$-wise and able to spend what i want when I want on fishing tackle - I wouldn't go within spitting distance of em.

    Screw Jone's tackle.

Oh - the cheap shitty rod is still going strong and catching regularly.

Mate, I hate poor service too and can't blame you feeling cranky. However, I'm their on regular occasions and not sure who you would have spoken to. I've seen and experienced nothing but good service and I frequent many tackle stores. Was it a joke taken the wrong way?? The sales staff have all changed since 15 years ago, very polite and helpful, same owners though. Maybe just pop in and see how they are treating other customers?

I agree, We've all been through a bad experience as a customer but 15 yrs ago mate I would think its time to move on and give them another go. I've never had a problem with them always extremely helpful since I have been going there for about 4 years now.. to each their own. :-)

I will be heading there some time this month to get a new bream rod. Though I am not necessarily a big supporter of them. A few years ago I was after a part for a reel, and the guy I was talking to (if you can call it that) was very low in the art of conversing and/or customer service. You know the type that you ask a question, and instead of any comment or conversation they say nothing. You are not sure if they are going to answer, help you, or what. After he walked off and looked something up, he eventually came back and spoke his first words. I ended up leaving thinking I had inconvenienced him by going to the store.

This experience had me shopping elsewhere after that. But I will give them another go. 2 strikes and they will be out.

Very good service / prices in my opinion. I'll travel from the Redlands to purchase from them, rather than use anyone in this area.

Ask for Steve, he has a great deal of knowledge and is a thoroughly good guy...

Ha Ha. If Jones' were publicly listed then Frank would have the majority shares and try a takeover. Don't know how he will cope, coffee breaks and all
