Shimano Lifetime warranty

who has used the shimano lifetime( my mistake as I`ve just checked in the box and it`s 10 year) warranty to sort out problems with their reels and was there any drama`s?
I have a torium 30 which has copped a lot of use and also had all the good treatment of a warm soapy bath and and inox before being put away but sounds pretty ordinary when trying to fling out a cast and it only recently got serviced. sounds like a bearing is about to fold up and the ratchet triangle has the tip snapped off and also sounds Shitty. i`m thinking i`ll just send it back to shimano for a fix or replacement?
