    Caboolture river?

I am heading to my old stomping grounds on the river for the first time in close on 15 years this weekend. Any advice on how it is going would be appreciated.

I used to chase lizards near Benson's, bream at bakers flats and mouth of king john Ck. jew and bream down at the shelley bank.

    Are these areas still performing.

Will be nice to be home again.

It has not changed a lot in the last 15 years really. The fish are still in the same areas just a lot more line shy now due to fishing pressure.
Bakers flats area is definitely more shallow than it used to be but is just passable near low tide in a tinnie that doesn't draw too much water. A glass boat will need to be 1/4 tide or higher to pass through.

Sounds like an interesting trip coming up. I might even venture back into Burp Ck on the making tide. Loved them muddies up there

Didnt miss a whole lot over the weekend from Cab River, I hit it yesterday for one GT about 50cm ish. There is a bit of fresh in the river but not enough to turn the fish off or flush them out, they were just being un-interested yesterday. Crabs are very ordinary up there according to a local I regularly speak to, stating lots of undersized and last weekend produced no keeper crabs for him, the weekend before was two keeper crabs.

I was there on Sat morn. the water was crap, too much fresh. all i managed was 2 flatties at sunrise, and not a bite after that.
