Great trip Dave, and nice maori. i've never seen one in the flesh before.
oh and nice boat too by the way...love it. Like I said today, only thing missing is an electric winch, but I'm just soft I spose.

Dave's fine, he has a 'wench' winch.
Man I wish I wasn't in Brisbane! QFM should pay me a bonus when I miss a reef trip.
Don't you love it when a plan comes together! Congrats on seeing the project through and then christening it with a trip like that! Thanks for sharing everything here, great reading.
Sorry to hear you couldn't be there Nick, you should have told Boothy you needed to be on assignment to cover the blooding/christening trip. I'm sure its worthy of about a four page feature. Hopefully you'll get your chance soon.
Cheers,
Matt
Awesome session and nice fish - great start to your new boat. Top stuff.
Thanks for having me aboard Dave. It scratched a very large itch that seems to be itching again. The fish for dinner last night was great. Sorry Nic for stealing your spot. But gees it was a good trip, you shoulda been there......
Matt.
Good to see itchy Matt and scratchy Dave get a few stonkers. I hope there was no funny scratching business going on in the new cabin boys
Looking forward to the xmas sojourn.
Nic I personally think its illegal what these blokes did leaving you in agony in Vegas, suggest you will get some mileage out of this one.
Bob
I confess I had not made the time to read your progress on the build of Alchemy, but seeing this report, and tying it all together, I have read and seen something better that I can ever recall in magazines. You must be chuffed! It belongs in the Art Gallery for the paintwork, a Museum with signs all over "Please don't touch" but in the end, a great boat to get out on the water and enjoy.
Thanks for the whole project and resulting catch of fish.
Scalem
Thanks Matt. I was stoked with the results of the first trip. I hope that has set the scene for many more successfull trips!
Thanks for your compliments Scalem and I am glad you enjoyed the build story and this. No chance of the "do not touch" sign though. I intend giving this boat a solid working life!
Regards,
Dave.
My pleasure Matt. Hopefully we can do it again around Xmas.
Bob.... Nic understands the situation. Good weather, tides and an open window with work will always = fishing trip. Oh yeah, and FOM. No funny business. Looking forward to your next visit.
DP.
ROFL Itchy Matt and Scratchy Dave! Maybe his talc is actually flea powder.
Ah yes, the mileage... I will use it the next time Scratchy tells me I'm wasting too much time taking photos.
Xmas will rock, especially now that we have room for all of us to fish at once. Bring it on...
excellent report. Thats one of the best mixed bags i've seen for a while. Surely that massive wrasse is a once in a lifetime fish and congratulations on releasing it, well done.
Fishing can be defined as "A jerk on one end of the rod, waiting for a jerk on the other".
"Fishing was around along time before you darling"
Great to see Alchemy out on the water Dave. I know the wait has been killing yourself and Nicole however the results surely are worth it. That boat is a machine mate!
