Question Nissan Patrol wheel nuts coming off

Just wondering if anyone has had problems with wheel nuts coming off a nissan Patrol. I have recently had a full set of new tyres fitted and last night noticed that both the front hubs where missing and 3 nuts on each wheel gone, I checked the tyre pressure the morning before and all was fine.

Mmmmm......this is a documented problem with nissans and aluminium rims- a catch for the unwary, although given your particular symptoms, call the tyre fitters they owe you replacement nuts and a trip to where the car is parked ATM at the very minimum and the rim fitter a kick up the bottom......short of this someone doesn't like you??...it happens

Same thing happened to me in my old holden ute we were scooting along the highway on the way back from Cairns when the steering started shaking very badly quickly pulled over to find that there was only one nut left on the front left hand wheel. Took a nut of each of the other wheels and and tightened them all up properly, had only had the car about a week.
Another time went to change a flat and found out the mechanic who serviced it last had broken a stud and instead of replacing it had just araldited it back on.

did you get new rims at the same time as the new tyres? are your rims alloy? if so, it might pay to check that the correct wheel nuts have been used for the rims, they're not always the same ie. some rims/wheels require different nuts to the stocko steel rim wheel nuts. nuts loosening on alloy wheels does happen though, just have a little swing off em with a brace every now and again. that's pretty wild though, losing 3, normally you'd notice that.

i could slip in a female joke here about not noticing red dash lights and death wobbles at the steering wheel ................. but i'm way to sensitive new age for that ............ bracing myself for lady dragon flames here

As FNQ stated, plenty of threads on 4wd forums about the later patrols spitting wheel nuts off alloy rims.

Yep front left for me on a GQ with alloys as others have said wrong nuts.Only doing 40klm at the the time and made a meal of the rotor.

When my missus was working for a certain car rental company they had many issues with the patrols losing wheel nuts and the odd wheel.........it was the factory alloy with factory nuts........They where told by the local dealer to check them every 1000 or so k's and that this is routine maitence with all cars

Denial is what we would call it.
