anyone hear how ABT flathead comp went

had a look at the website
    http://www.bream.com.au/modules.php?...rticle&sid=694
some of the results are pretty ordinary, must have been pretty hard fishing if a couple of teams could only catch 2 or 3 fish, bit of a contrast to a couple of weeks ago.anyone know of anyone who was fishing it???? cheers BK

Hey mate - I fished yesterday but chose to not fish the comp and have more time on the water prefishing for the Classic. But I fished besides a number of the teams throughout the day. Fishing was pretty tough, as the results show.

Water temp has risen a couple of degrees from a week ago and the snot weed is thick, especially on the run out. It is a vast contrast to the 2 weeks before that.

Let's hope the conditions turn around before Thursday - no surprise of strong winds forecast for the 3 days...that rarely fails!

    Hi guys,

I did fish the flathead comp. and it was hard , the biggest problem was the amount of traffic on the water and the amount of jet ski's racing around like flies.

I did also fish the ABT Bream comp on thursday , friday and saturday, and I think the bream comp guy's may have helped to make things hard for the flathead clasic. Because think of this---- in the bream comp we all fish with 2 to 4lb lines, and 80% of our bycatch is flathead, and using me as an example I lost 4 jig heads to large flathead which broke my leader, now there were 80 bream guys and lets say that half of them lost 2 jig heads each , that makes 80+ large flathead which have jig heads in their mouths right now.
When was the last time you caught a fish with a jig head in it's mouth?
These fish may not feed until the jig heads are gone, may-be 1 to 2 weeks?

Going to get hurt for this reply I know.
    cheers

I won't say anything nasty if you send me the location of those four large Flathead you lost Are you fishing the Flathead Classic?

Is the boat in your avatar a light blue and white Attack - if so I saw you buzzing around Friday and Sunday...nice boat. A mate of mine has one of the original models.

    Thanks

When the abt bream has a Super Series comp on ( this means we fish friday and saturday and the top ten after the two days has a shoot out on the sunday )
Everybody but the top ten goes home on saturday , so to make more people stick around on the sunday they have a flathead comp on the sunday.
