I'm just getting back into fishing again, I used to be well into it back in the UK until I started playing Rugby League at a decent level and was old enough to start on the grog !!!. I'm living in Currumbin now and I'm taking my 6yr old and Father in law with me this saturday. Ive been going over the past 18 months but had no luck with anything decent
Ive been to Talle Creek and Currumbin Creek a few times in the last year , I keep on getting plagued by small bream and toadfish, mainly pinching my bait, I was using prawns and Pilchards from servo. Ive dabbled with soft plastics but again no luck. Ive bought a new rod and lighter gear, and bought my son a little rod for him. Can anyone point out what baits/rigs I should use to have a bit more fun. And where on the creek should I go, Ive just tried the small sandy areas near the kids playground before.
Also. Ive recently bought a surf fishing rod, I live close to beach and want to try beach fishing, what baits, rigs, tackle should I use to be successful.
Any info and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I live in Currumbin .... I do not fish those creeks at all mate ... tired of only catching tiddler-bream!!
Surf fishing is great at many spots along the Goldie.
The heavy surf of this week should produce a few gutters along Palmie/Tugun that will do well, and then there's always the trips down to NSW north coast (remember your license) that I love. Send me PM if you wanna hook up for a surf fish at some crazy hour of the night :-)
