Thread: What motor would you buy?

Re: What motor would you buy?

Go the Opti. Great solid engine. Heps of power. Plenty of torque, Go like hell. Use bugger all fuel. Oil is not that dear. Get a set of ear muffs, though, as they are LOUD (but anything is loud compared to an E-Tec) and they huff and puff like a John Deere Charf Cutter. Nearly got 1 myself.

    Cheers,
    NICK.
    I fish; therefore I am...

Politicians are just like kangaroos; they're lovely to have around, but they need a good CULL every now and then just to keep the population in check...

PS. When she does eventually fail I will genuinely miss the smell of the 2 stroke when its cold...
LOL..I love the smell of a 2 stroke in the mornings.

on another note regarding the suggested pahse ut of oldtech 2 strokes..obviously someone thinks the exhaust is polluting the waterways...what about diesels? They going to be phased out also ? No good doing one without the other...can see it now..a 55' Riviera with a bank of 4 banger outboards on the back.

Pinhead - good point mate. I didnt think of them..those diesels are cannot be better than the old 2 strokes. It would be a brave polly that sought to ban all od tech motors from the water ways.

The solution to that is called particulate filters and I suspect at some point they will become mandatory.
