I had an interesting little problem while fishing on the weekend. On this trip I had a new shakespear Synergy rod to put through it's paces. The rod performed well in all aspects, Responsive, forgiving, light weight, able to handle large surging runs, a couple of XXL sized stingrays helped with this and most importantly the whole unit was a pleasure to cast.
The only bummer was in the Twist Grip reel lock attactched to the reel seat. I was swapping Grunts with a large ray, The reel started to feel loose so as you do, you give give your grip a twist too nip up the tention.... and bugger me the cork grip split into two sections Mid battle.
It always pays too have the good old electrical tape on board to fix the problem. With a few tight wraps I was back in the game. The rod soon lost it's new appeal but hey at least it was usable.
Here's some pics... The shot with the Tailor well I reckon that's the best way of not getting bitten off......pure arse!
"If I am going too burn time let it be holding my rod. For when it is time to lay me at rest let it be a Viking burial at it's best. Give back for what I have Taken."
