    Sportfish 5.5 cuddy

Just wondering if anyone has owned a sportfish 5.5 cuddy cab. I'm looking at one at the moment with a 130 Honda. The boat is called rover lll. Does anyone know of it or have any reviews on them. Cheers

I used to own a half cab 5.5 and thought it was a great boat. Sorriest thing I ever did was to sell it which took just one day after advertising. Mine had a 115 two stroke which was adequate offshore. As they were built in the days before extended outboard pods, I just wonder about the weight of the fourstroke on the stern. They came standard with a 4 mm plate bottom but could be ordered with a 5 mm as an option. I don't know how you would find out. Brad Ziechskie (owner of Ipswich Marine) did his apprenticeship with the company and says he was always proud of the finish on the hulls before he would fit electrics and engines. It was the little things like the effort taken even under the floor where the customer would not have access to see. He might know about the hull thickness issue. Safe boating

a mate has a 5m cuddy and loves it, he has had paint peeling issues but i think that is the luck of the draw. For a tin boat I feel it rides ok, with reasonable fishing space and fairly user friendly.

I have a 6m one and love it with a 140 suzuki on the back and get 62 k's out of it, trim tabs made a huge difference in the ride on it and would strongly recommend them as they get a bit nose up without them.
