Went fishing on Sunday with my friend Noel.
Launched the boat from Buxton ramp.
Pumped some yabbies for bait and then went to a few different spots that Noel knows.
One spot in particular we kept getting chewed off.
Between us we must have re-rigged about 20 times.
Had 2 lines each in the water.
Whatever it was Noel said it was big as he had it hooked the longest until it chewed through the line.
I rigged up a steel trace but it didn't take it.
Noel said it felt about 20 pounds plus.
Nice catch of fish mate. I have heard that there are some large Queenfish cruising around that neck of the woods at the moment. Could be what chewed ya. I'm heading up that way in two weeks. If we get a catch like that I would be most happy.
Some big cods around that way ATM. I saw a cod frame at the Toogoom ramp that was about 1m last week!! Been some barra about too, but I havent hooked one yet.
Been plenty of seatoads biting me off on 45lb leader in the Gregory. you never feel em tho.
Fishing- It's only an addiction if you're trying to quit.
