I have found a rock outcrop in the surf that looks like it will hold fish.
I want to strip an old tailor rod & rebuild it to suit.
I have a 14' Northcoaster surf rod, fibreglass, medium action,not sure what the rod is rated to. I'm looking to cast about 100metres using whole squid & strip baits with a sinker size of 6/0 - 8/0 ball sinker using a 6.5" alvey side cast spooled with 8 - 10kg mono.
Can any one tell me the best size striper guide, high or low frame, how to find the position of the choke guide, best size tip to cast this distance.
