Goldie FTD Tuesday 7th
The weather Gods were with us on Tuesday wth low winds, low current and some cloud cover so after getting the bait we headed out to the 50's (South East) for the bigger stuff. First 'demonstration' drop had two AJ's up (only two baits down) and for the next hour each drift brought more AJ's to the boat. Smaller ones were sent back home to grow bigger and our problem was bagging out too quickly. With a nice Kingie on board too we started to drift and floatline another area close by and a couple of pearlies, some snaps and large trag came on board. Back to the 42's and we bagged out on smaller Trag before coming in to the 36's for more floatlining for snaps. With no more room in the ice boxes we called it a day.
12 anglers - huge bags of fish to take home and loads of whales breeching and fin waving - a great day out as usual with Fish The Deep.
The snapper may be a little scarce in numbers, but the sizes are good, the trag are always obliging and I cannot remember a better season for AJ's and Kingies on the Goldie 50's in the last 5 years.
Got to wait two weeks now for my next trip out and itching to go and hopefully my arms, back, legs and the fish will have fully recovered by then.
Cheers

Hi Plato, good to see good fish on board.
I saw you guys out there and gave a wave, but you wouldn't of reliased it was me. I saw you guys at the 80 m mark.
I had a slowish day started in close and was drifting to quick, took the punt and headed out and the current was much better. Had great shows of fish but couldn't get them to bite.
Managed a few for a feed though. With the best being a 4kg tuskie. One of my favourites.
See you in a couple of weeks.

Hey Tim;
Yes I remember seeing you out wide. You were fishing by yourself yes? Looked like you were flicking plastics deep as well.
The AJ's and Kingies were taking big slimies and Yakkas very close to the bottom. The pinnacles out on the 50's were mixed with some showing fish and others not.
When we saw you we had just moved off the AJ mark and were going for the snapper of floated pillies and double hooked bottom rigs for the Pearlies.
I look forward to meeting up with you one of these days.
Cheers

Yes thats me, found some awesome shows but struggled to get them to bite.
Some good snaps come from that area.
Did better in closer on the backside rise. Fish started to come on around 2pm but had to go in.
Catch up soon.

Re: Goldie FTD Tuesday 7th
Hey Rosco;
30 lb line is ok for floating up the snaps but you will probably need 40lb line and 100lb leaders using livies on the AJ's and Kingies with the lever on sunset to stop the bigger fellas bricking you.
Adrian (the crew) will set you up double leaders etc on your own gear if you need help.
Don't worry about the gear if you haven't got it. Matt has the heavy stuff on board and will have floatlines available if you dont want to use your own.
Yep - looking forward to it and praying we get good weather - light winds.
Arms have nearly stopped aching - should be ok by tomorrow.
Cheers
Plato
PS: Will be nice to meet Tim as well.
