    Thumbs down NPD donut

Gave NPD a serous session on Saturday for nil results other than donating a few lures to the drowned timber

Travelled a fair way upstream & turned around when the depth was only 9 feet.

Saw some good shows on the sounder just around the downstream corner from the boat ramp but despite a few passes they didn't want to play.

Dropping barometer with the rain approaching probably didn't help.

    Hopefully better luck next weekend

Been there done that Luc, the one way of ensuring you dont come home empty handed is throw out a few redclaw pots.
Luckily it's such a beaut spot that just being out on the water makes up for a donut.
    Keep plugging away!

Luc, head shallower early in the morning. I went for a dawn walk along the edge of the dam two weeks ago and there were 50cm fish in water about 40cm deep foraging around and boofing frogs and hoppers. I watched several grasshoppers i flicked into the water get taken in quick succession. Watched one horse pushing his way through the grasses and sticks along a steep bank being none too quiet about it either. All action over when the suns rays touch the water though.

    Hi Jack,

With the weather warming up, early morning or late afternoon walkies along the shoreline are always worthwhile.

As far as boating, since you can't get past the gate till 6am, daybreak session are problematic and will get worse as the sun rises earlier.

It has been a bit up and down out there lately, I got 36 on shrimp on friday, 5 on tues and none yesterday. Water temp yesterday was 21.9c and the green blue algae was thick as pea soup. But you get your down days and then it bounces back bright as ever.
