    Fathers Day New Reels

Well the Fathers Day fairy came and left me a TLD25 and an Okuma Titus. Niiiiiiccccccceeeeeeeeeee fairy.

Now, what do i put on them? Was thinking maybe trying 80lb braid for jigging off shore with the TLD, and 50lb mono on the Okuma. Any comments? Also have to find a stick to put the TLD25 on. Any thoughts?

    Appreciate any comments.

Give 'em to me and I'll worry about spooling them up.

Well what are you planning on chasing??? 50 lb braid is plenty on the tld 25 it's drag will max out at 10 kg anyway and the 80 lb is just over kill! It a similar issue on the titus is it the 30??? Your best bet is 15 kg on the reel if it is the 30 that's what it was designed for and 15 kg is plenty for any speedsters your likely to encounter baring blue marlin and a titus loaded with 24 kg is under gunned for them anyway! I use nothing but 8 kg for inshore trolling so 15 kg is heaps and will allow your lures to swim ok but 24 kg is going to hurt there action big time!
    Just my 2 cents worth!

Tld dont make a good jigging reel, handle back play and handle size and power is all against them, and certainly not with 80lb the pinion gears are weak as piss, if you want a good life span from your reel before the rough winding feelin takes over 10kg mono suits them fine.
