Thread: Broncos Weave

    Broncos Weave

Not much action on this board, so I thought I'd show some "work in progress"
Finished the first part of the weave in the split grip.
The other images are design concepts so to speak.

Let me start by saying THIS IS NOT FOR ME!!!
As a life long Saints supporter this rod makes me feel dirty.

This is the first part of a project rod with a Queensland theme for a friend.

    Split grip spinner.
The Broncos stuff in the split grip and the lions stuff in front of the front grip.
    Cheers,
    Owen

    Re: Broncos Weave

    Well I think it's a great design .

I'm keen to have another go at a weave so I have a ordered a Doc Ski jig and downloaded a free pattern off rodbuildingutorials.com. just don't know haw to pick the colour for thread going around rod compared to threads going along the rod. once I get under way I'll put up some pics.

    Adam,
I have a few patterns that are publicly available too if you wish.
    http://www.pictoweave.com/cgi-bin/ya...gi?board=files
These are in PDF format so you don't need any software to use them.
    Cheers,
    Owen

Thats really nice work Owen. I would make one change though mate, instead of Broncos maybe call it the Brisbane folds.

    Re: Broncos Weave

    Part II is done.
    Over 400 rotations so far.
65 more to go for the split grip area
The temptation to stop after the 6th letter was almost overwhelming

    Should pack down pretty good.
The trick on letters is to maintain exactly the same wrap tension throughout.
Any variation at all will result in different width strokes on the letters.
    Cheers,
    Owen
