whiptail im pretty shure
"True Blue"
That be a whiptail for sure. Great bait and not too bad on the tooth apparently.
Looking through Grants Fishes of Australia the closest thing i can find is called the Northern Bananafish.
A close relative of the Blue Faced Whiptail, it goes on to describe the two yellow stripes, where they start and where they go to,the two filaments trailing from the top and bottom of the tail, differs from the whip tail in that there is no small jet black spot over the tail base.
All very close but it talks of a brownish coloured body, thats got me worried? maybe a breeding colour??
Cheers,
John.
What a gorgeous fish.
from memory a double whiptail
plenty in the middle of the bay
Yep, Apollo is correct...A Fusilier...Great skip bait for billies...
I CAME INTO THIS WORLD KICKING, SCREAMING AND COVERED IN SOMEONE ELSES BLOOD. I HAVE NO PROBLEM GOING OUT THE SAME WAY.
NEWBY T.G.
whatever it is, it'll make a great live bait for a massive big trout.
It's def not a fusilier but I'd be putting a 9/0 straight through that little fella and dropping himn back down deep.
Pentapodus emeryii
Threadfin bream.
Cheers,
John.
I should have said Google (you will find it in google images under the latin name i have shown) the name Pentapodus emeryii and you will see quite a few images of this fish.
I was going to post a picture but when a caption said that the image may be copyrighted i decided not to copy it.
Cheers,
John.
