What steve harney says is very disapointing and I understand how he feels. But Don't tar all comp fisho's with the same brush !!
True ,some of the guys drive like nuts and have little respect for those around them, just like some charter operators, some jet ski drivers, some cruiser drivers, some bait fisho's, some ski/wake boat drivers. etc etc
The guys in the tourny boats stand out alot more than a normal boat and because of that cop a bit more from some.
Some of us do try to do the right thing and give a bit space to others on the water.
But, as it's been said many a time about all sorts of boating , it's always the minority that spoil it for the rest.
By all means give the guy that upsets you a gob full. But it's pretty pointless giving a gob full to some one else that has done nothing to you.
Next time I go for a fish and a cruiser almost swamps me. I'm not going to say that THEY ARE ALL TOSSERS, just some are.
Next time I see plastic bait packs floating in the drink would you like me to call ALL baitos "bloody grubs" no ofcourse not, only some are.!!
Lets give each other a bit of courtesy on the water .. After all we are all doing the basic same thing.... Fishing
For your info "whyisitso" I used both hands to type this.![]()
I have to ask though, why does anyone need 250hp on a 500kg??? Hull to be doing 70+km an hour in enclosed waters?????
I am a big fan of giving people the freedom to do what ever they like. But boats doing those crazy speeds in enclosed waters is just asking for trouble. Maybe they need to look at either limiting the HP on these comps or setting a top speed during the comp.
Sure I have watched the US Bass comps and they all want the big HP to get to the spot as fast as possible. But if everyone is limited to the same speed then there is no advantage over the other so what does it usually achieve??? Nothing imho
Democracy: Simply a system that allows the 51% to steal from the other 49%.
Regardless of the type of boat , size of the motor , comp - whatever ...... people do need to consider others .
If it is the comp guys and they are behaving inappropriately report them to the organisers - I'm pretty confident that a bloke like Steve Morgan would not want any bad publicity.

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day !
Teach him how to fish
& he will sit in a boat - & drink beer all day!

G'day!
Do the high speed competion boats have an exemption from having a rego numbers ? I followed some on trailers down the MI during the Tinnie and Tackle show earlier this year (competitors in show comp) and I certainly could not see a number.
I had just had to change perfectly clear numbers to larger numbers to comply with the law.
