Usually Pearlies disappear to deeper water to spawn in July but there have still been some good catches about recently- try Wide Caloundra - reefy/pebbly bottom - up to 60mtr - use the old Paternoster rig with a decent Snapper lead on the bottom & 5/0 Hooks should do the job. Sqid on top & 1/2 pilly on bottom - you can add a 5-7"soft plastic to the top if you wish.
Pearlies have very soft mouths so just don't pull TOO hard when they bite.
Dont forget to chuck out a floater out the back on spin gear- a pilly on ganged 6/0 - let it float well away from the boat - leave the bail arm open for a while or if you have a bait runner even better! A 4 ball sinker will let the pilly sink slowly into the strike zone.
You can try N/E of Flinders Reef if you can get some Marks around there - you can always pick up a mixed bag of reef fish - Just watch GREEN ZONES!
Hope this helps - have a great day
