If you roll a 4x4.....

...at slow speed as in being in 1st or 2nd lowrange and you basically tip it over and roll it onto its side or roof, and if you can get it back up right way, is it ok to just drive away if it will start? just curious as to any engine problems that may arise after a roll over

Let it sit for ten or fiteen minutes first.

If you roll a Landcruiser it may take some time to right it

Oil may get past the rings and into the combustion chambers
if you are really worried pull the spark plugs/Glow plugs and turn the motor over and see if anything blows out

Other than that you should be right

Firstly, welcome to the club . I rolled mine (4.5 petrol cruiser) nearly did a full roll but just couldnt make it back onto its wheels. Sat on its side for about 7 minutes. I gambled and just started it straight off. No problems at all...

How ever, when my mate rolled his diesel. It sat on its roof for about 15 minutes. He didnt wait and tried starting it. Bent conrods and valves, forced oil squirts into the cylinder a real mess and pricy to fix.

So I doubt there are any after affects that arent noticable straight away. Listen to the exhaust for miss's, meaning a bent rod etc. Basically it either goes or it doesnt.

We rolled a rangie at ormeau at night,it broke both engine mounts but still drove it home,wasnt a nice feeling being upside down in pitch black and a heap of fuel around,

when we rolled an 80 series out at Cruiser park(I got a nice set of 3 pics of it rolling) it took almost an hour to right it using a couple of hand winches
we waited a while before starting it up and at the last minute decided to drop the glow plugs out and wind it over, just as well as there was quite a bit of oil squirting out the holes for the first few rotations. Once the oil stopped spraying we then started it up and it was fine. might have been different if we just started it up, adding an engine rebuild to the $10,000 repair to the body

Any I've seen have fluids coming from radiator overflow, clutch, brake reservoirs, battery etc etc.

I'd be having a real close look prior to hitting the switch.

She rolled my truck on its side and it was there for about 2 hours before we got it back on its wheels. We started it the next day with no problems. Still going.

I rolled a mazda rx2 onto the roof (rotary engine) sat upside down for about 20 mins, restarted no probs, just after, someone else took it for a hell run and buckled the front end so bad that it wouldn't drive foward anymore , I reversed the wreck all the way home, about 2 ks. crazy days. . .

If its a factory turbo diesel it is worth alot more than $10 000. Plus you get a nice new paint job out of it. Ps. I got quoted $7k just for the paint job on mine. So I think $10k is easily acheivable.

Are they worth spending $10,000 to repair if they're only worth $14-18,000?
What happens if you miss something in the motor and it blows up?

Surely an insurance mob would right the vehicle off if there's $10,000 worth of damage.

I think I must be just out of touch having a Landrover and a Pajero.
We got q new Landrover chassis and 1/2 a body for two cartons of XXXX when we did the restore and the Pajero only cost $4000 complete with paint and running gear and radio.
