    Parking tickets at Vic Pt

Was at Vic Pt Saturday morning and was quite pleased to see the boys in blue issuing tickets to the cars parked in the trailer parking spaces.

They will raise a lot of revenue if the same can happen at Manly Harbour.

Yes but let a bit of common sence prevail

If there is no one in the parking lot then let them park or the car park is 20 % full

If its the weekend and it busy then book em

Any other time is revenue raising (particularly at manly)

At viccy point its a shared area during week trailers only weekend. Rangers patrol frequently on weekend like wise at Weinman Creek ar Redland bay. I say congrats to Council as both areas very busy of a weekend.

Manly Boat Harbour is under the control of the Port of Brisbane.

Would that mean that Brisbane City Council parking inspectors have no jurisdiction there?

Sounds good until you happen to be a kayaker launching at the boat ramp who gets fined.

I don't know. It makes sense if it were not a saleable item.

PoB does tend to maintain it pretty well, though.

does a vehicle without a trailer need to park in an area designed for car and trailer.

    Thanks, Greg.

The good news about that (I think!) is that there may be less of an incentive for a state govt body to charge fees for launching a boat as happens in Victoria.

I wondered if such might happen once the PoB was privatised.

It does when there is NO parking for vehicles without trailers and I need to get +- 60kg of gear to the water.

I agree, use the loading zone then park elsewhere, you have the ability to park in either a trailer or non trailer as a yakker, though it seems abit unfair that I can't park my trailer anywhere else but a trailer park. Common sense must prevail within reason of course :-)
