A mate and I plan to head to Hinze for the first time. Any advice on best techniques or locations in the dam would be very much appreciated thanks?
Am aware the main ramp is closed and we'll have to use the ones on the western side.
Regards,
Pete

Pete, I havent fished it for maybe 4 weeks. Last month before that I only fished for an hour or two close to the Numimbah ramp area and got zero. This was usually late in the day. Those with time and good battery power I been told are getting a few in the bays and drop offs closer to the main basin.
For other info try this link and also put Hinze in the search function and you will get lots.

The ramp situation is not good and the latest is that the new ramps wont be opened until stage 3 works have been completed and water level rises to stage 3 levels. Mudgeeraba temporary ramp is still not opened last check and they keep delaying the re-opening of it due to delays in vegetation clearing.
Cheers and all the best. - Richard
I start work up there next week. Can't wait
Mitch
Thanks, Richard.
Ended up hitting Hinze with a couple of mates in our kayaks. Got nothing on the Friday arvo. Then got 3 bass, the biggest went 35cm, on the Saturday. Another mate got 2 small bass on the Saturday. Was fairly quiet trip. All mine were caught on a TN60 jackall on the troll.
We launched for the old ramp at the southern end of the western arm near Arkinstalls Gully.
Cheers,
Pete
